Governor Perdue Appoints Rebecca Sullivan as Deputy Executive Counsel

ATLANTA, GA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Rebecca Sullivan as Deputy Executive Counsel. Sullivan replaces Robert Highsmith who is returning to private law practice effective November 30, 2004.
“Rebecca is a valuable member of our team, and I look forward to her serving in this new capacity,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “Her understanding of policy and legal issues, as well as her trusted advice and counsel, will serve this administration well.”
Since November 2003, Sullivan, 29, has served as Policy Advisor to Governor Perdue on public safety and general government issues.
Before joining Perdue's administration, Sullivan was associated with Elarbee, Thompson, Sapp & Wilson LLP, where she practiced labor and employment law, representing public and private employers nationwide. Sullivan is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Sullivan received a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2000 and a bachelor of arts in political science, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 1997. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Coif.
