Intern Program

For more information, including how to apply, please consult out internship website: http://intern.gov.georgia.gov.

Initiated in 1971, the Governor's Intern Program, provides the best, brightest, and most ambitious college and law students with practical professional experience before they enter the working world.

The Governor's Intern Program offers invaluable work experience each semester in numerous state agencies throughout Georgia. The intern serves as a staff member with professionals in a career of interest to the student. A great deal of emphasis is placed on merging classroom learning with practical application. College juniors, seniors, and master's level students in any academic dicipline are encouraged to participate. The law intern program is also a part of the Governor's Intern Program and primarily places law students each summer.

The Governor's Intern Program creates a mutually beneficial arrangement for college students, their respective schools and participating agencies. Consequently, the selection process is critical to ensure that the students' skills are developed and their goals achieved. Selection of interns is based on interests, area of expertise, maturity, academic record, and the availability of internships.

All students involved in the Governor's Intern Program receive an educational stipend.
