Governor Perdue Appoints DeKalb District Attorney

ATLANTA, GA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Jeffrey H. Brickman as District Attorney for the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit to replace J. Tom Morgan who resigned effective January 31, 2004. The swearing-in ceremony will be Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at 9:45 a.m. in the Governor's Office.
"Jeffrey Brickman has dedicated his entire legal career to being a prosecutor and is a lifelong resident of DeKalb County," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "The citizens of DeKalb County will be served well by his experience and dedication to fair and impartial justice."
Brickman, 42, has served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia since 1997. Previously, he served an Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County from 1989 to 1997. He is a member of the Georgia Children's Trust Fund Commission and serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Center for Children, Inc. Child Advocacy Center. Brickman is Chairman of Housemate Match and Home But Not Alone and Co-Chairman of Erwin Zaban Leadership Development Program. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, a Juris Doctor from University of Florida School of Law, and a master's degree in litigation from Emory University School of Law. Brickman resides in Dunwoody.
