Governor Perdue Announces Appointments to State Board of Corrections

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following appointments to the State Board of Corrections:

Tommy Rouse, 72, Waycross , GA , 1st Congressional District - Rouse is a retired District Manager for Behavioral Intervention, Inc. where he managed and directed probation supervision services for state, probate, and municipal courts in Waycross, Camilla, Douglas, Metter, Lyons, Soperton, Bainbridge, Cairo, Thomasville, and Moultrie, Georgia.  He was awarded a Lifetime Membership to the Georgia Probation Association and received the Georgia Department of Corrections Lee Broome Award for Excellence in Probation.  He and his wife, Pat, have one son.

Sheriff Roger Garrison, 42, Ball Ground, GA, 7th Congressional District - Garrison is currently serving as Cherokee County's Sheriff.  He is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, Georgia County Council on Child Abuse, and the Cherokee County Multi-Agency Narcotics Unit.  He is professionally affiliated with the F.B.I. National Academy Associates, the National Sheriffs' Association, the Georgia Sheriffs' Association, the County Officers Association of Georgia, and Leadership Cherokee.  Garrison received his undergraduate degree from Reinhardt College and a master's degree from Columbus State University.  He and his wife, Shelia, have one son.

Rob Jones, 37, Madison , GA , 9th Congressional District - Jones is a partner at Robert E. Jones, P.C.  He served as Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Southeastern Regional Business Torts Committee and the ABA Business Torts Committee CLE Seminars.  He is a mentor for the Morgan County Schools and serves on the School Council for Morgan County Primary School. He received his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a J.D. from Mercer University.  Jones and his wife, Trish, have three children.

Sheriff Bill Massee, 57, Milledgeville , GA , At-Large - Massee is presently serving his fourth term as Baldwin County's Sheriff.  He was previously employed as a Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agent, a criminal justice planner and grant processor for the Oconee area, and a City Police Chief in Milledgeville.  Massee is the past president of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association and the County Officer's Association of Georgia.  He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training Council.  Massee received his associate's degree from Georgia Military College and his undergraduate degree in business administration from Georgia College.  He has one daughter.

Wayne Dasher, 53, Glennville , GA , At-Large - Dasher is currently the Vice President and Director of Satilla Community Bank.  He previously worked at Glennville Bank & Trust where he served as President and CEO.  Dasher received the Meritorious Service Award from the Georgia Sheriffs' Association in 2003 and is also an Honorary Life Member of the Georgia Sheriffs' Association and Peace Officers Association of Georgia.  He was elected to the Board of Directors of Southeastern Technical College and was appointed as an Honorary Georgia State Patrol Officer.  Dasher was chosen as "Man of the Year" by the Glennville Chamber of Commerce and was President of Glennville Lions Club. He received his undergraduate degree from Brewton Parker College. Dasher and his wife, Julie, have one daughter.

Governor Perdue previously announced the appointment of Ellis Wood (12th Congressional District) and the reappointment of Robert Brown (4th Congressional District).
