Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Jim Jolly to the Board of Regents to represent the Tenth Congressional District and the appointment of Iffath Hoskins to the Board of Human Resources to represent the First Congressional District.
Board of Regents
James R. Jolly, 62, Dalton, GA, 10th Congressional District - Jolly is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of J & J Industries, Inc., which he joined in 1967. He became President in 1986, President and CEO in 1988, and Chairman and CEO in 1999. Jolly serves on the board of The Carpet and Rug Institute, is a member of the Covenant College Board of Trustees, and is Chairman of the Covenant College Foundation. He is also a charter member of the Board of Directors of the Dalton Whitfield Boys and Girls Club. In addition, Jolly has served as a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Trustees and the executive board of the Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce. He received his bachelor degree in textiles from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Jolly and his wife, Judy, have two sons and five grandchildren.
Board of Human Resources
Iffath Abbasi Hoskins, 52, Savannah, GA, 1st Congressional District - Hoskins is Executive Director of Women's and Children's Services at the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA. She previously served as the Residency Program Director and Chief of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at New York University (NYU) Downtown Hospital. Hoskins is a member of both the American College of Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons. She is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology and has subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Hoskins received her undergraduate degree from Government College for Women in Karachi, Pakistan and graduated from the University of Karachi's Dow Medical College.
