New Press Secretary to Join Governor's Staff

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue's Chief of Staff Eric Tanenblatt announced today that Loretta A. Lepore is joining the Governor's staff as Press Secretary in the Communications Office. Since 1992, Lepore has worked as an anchor, correspondent, and writer for the Cable News Network (CNN) in Atlanta, GA.
"I am pleased to announce that Loretta Lepore is joining the Governor's communications staff," said Eric Tanenblatt. "She will be a great addition to this office."
Lepore is filling a vacant position within the Communications Office. The position has been vacant since July when Kimberly King joined the Governor's External Affairs Office.
"Loretta will be an excellent new member for our team," said Dan McLagan, Communications Director for Governor Perdue. "Her extensive media experience will assist our efforts in communicating the Governor's vision for Georgia."

Loretta A. Lepore, 40, Atlanta, GA - Lepore joins the Governor's Communications Office after eleven years with the Cable News Network (CNN). For CNN Headline News, she anchored live and taped newscasts covering breaking stories and special events. As a correspondent with the Southeast Bureau, Lepore covered stories in the region for multiple CNN networks. Lepore was previously with WUSA-TV and National Public Radio in Washington, DC. She has also worked in the offices of Senator John Warner and Congressman Jack Kemp. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Media Fellowship, "Culture of the South," from Vanderbilt University. Lepore is married with two children.
