Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue today issued the following statement concerning plans for an IKEA location in the Atlantic Station complex in Atlanta:
"I want to welcome plans for a new IKEA store to be located in Atlanta. The Atlantic Station development will be bolstered by the presence of this international company," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "Georgians will have a great store in a convenient location where they can purchase affordable and quality home furnishings."
The IKEA business idea is to offer a wide range of home furnishings with good design and function at affordable prices. The Atlanta store is part of IKEA's plans to open five new stores a year for ten years as part of an aggressive expansion plan of 50 new stores in North America. IKEA has eighteen locations in the United States. The nearest locations to Georgia are Woodbridge, Virginia and Houston, Texas.
