Atlanta - Atlanta, GA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following appointments to various State Boards and Commissions:
State Children's Trust Fund Commission
Linda H. Parker, 61, Woodstock, GA, Seventh Congressional District - Parker has been Vice President of C-Med/Dove, Inc. since 1985 and also currently serves as the coordinator of the Coverdell Leadership Institute. She holds a teaching degree from Doane College in Nebraska and attended the Victory Bible Institute in Oklahoma. Parker is active in Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club, and the American Red Cross. Parker and her husband, Kenneth, have three children.
Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission
Jeanne R. Ferst, 84, Atlanta, GA Ferst has served on numerous committees and commissions including the Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid for the U.S. Department of State, the President's Commission on Hostage Compensation, the President's Observation Delegation to Elections in Namibia, and the Ditchley Conference on the Future of Russia as an International Partner. Ferst is a graduate of the University of Chicago. Some of her other activities include serving as a board member for the Institute of Museum and Library Services, former board member of the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation, chairman of the Fulton County Economic Development Advisory Board, board member of the Southern Center for International Studies, and Trustee of Morris Brown College.
Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies
Robert F. Warner, 52, Kathleen, GA - Warner is currently president, CEO, and training coordinator of R.F. Warner & Associates, Inc. He holds an associates degree in Arts from Middle Georgia College, a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University, and a masters degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University. Warner has been involved in the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce, the American Polygraph Association, the Atlanta Claims Association, and the Middle Georgia Claims Association. Warner and his wife, Sherry, have two children.
State Board of Technical and Adult Education
Don L. Chapman, 64, Atlanta, GA, Fifth Congressional District - Chapman is CEO of Tug Investment Corporation and founder of Tug Manufacturing Corporation and Opti-World. Chapman holds a bachelors degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and completed graduate work at Georgia State University and Rollins College in Florida. Some of his activities include serving as chair of the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, board member of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, and chair of Junior Achievement of Georgia. In 1989, Chapman was named Business Atlanta's Entrepreneur of the Year.

William R. Jerles, 43, Perry, GA, Third Congressional District - Jerles has been managing partner of Daniel, Lawson, Tuggle & Jerles, LLP since 1990. He holds a J.D. from the Mercer University School of Law and a B.S.A. in Agriculture from the University of Georgia. Jerles is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has served as director of the Houston County YMCA, president and director of the Perry Rotary Club, and director of the Houston County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Jerles and his wife, Dawn, have two children.
State Board of Veterinary Science
Jan Creighton Hines, 64, Alpharetta, GA - Hines received his D.V.M from the University of Georgia Veterinary School and his B.S. from Georgia State University. Some of his activities include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Fulton Veterinary Medical Association. Hines and his wife, Hazel, have two children.
