Lexmark International to Donate Printers, Art Software, Teaching Materials

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue has forged a partnership with Lexmark International, Inc. to give every public elementary, middle, and high school in the state the opportunity to receive one printer with art software and teaching materials. Georgia has 2,003 public schools according the Georgia Department of Education making Lexmark's contribution worth approximately $290,000 to the state.

"Georgia's students will directly benefit from this public-private partnership," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "I sincerely thank Lexmark for their generosity. I look forward to building more partnerships with the private sector that help the people of this state."

Each school will be able to decide which teacher or computer lab will use the printer, but each printer is to be directly beneficial to the students and not used for administrative purposes. Lexmark is making the donations as part of their nationwide Print Art Educational Program. This national, philanthropic initiative is designed to expand and enrich the art and cultural education resources in schools. Lexmark, founded in 1991, is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of printing solutions - including laser and inkjet printers, associated supplies and services - for offices and homes.
