Governor Perdue Appoints Moore to Lead Office of School Readiness

Announces Two Appointments to the Board of Directors of GRTA

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Marsha Moore as Director of the Office of School Readiness (OSR).

"Marsha Moore is a strong advocate for preschool children across Georgia participating in the state's Pre-K program and related services," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "I look forward to her leadership of this office and working with her to strengthen education for all our students."

OSR was legislatively created in 1996 to administer Georgia's national recognized Pre-K Program, the Georgia Head Start State Collaboration Project, Nutrition Services Division, and a Child Care Services Division to oversee the regulation of child care learning centers that house a lottery funded Pre-K program.

Governor Perdue also made two appointments to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (Board). Lee Morris of Atlanta, GA was appointed to the Board and John Sibley of Atlanta, GA was reappointed.

Office of School Readiness

Marsha H. Moore, 51, Gainesville, GA - Moore has been serving as the Interim Director of the Office of School Readiness since 2000. Previously, Moore served as a Program Policy Developer and Program Manager as well as a Communicator/Collaborator with a combined twenty years experience.

Board of Directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority

E. Lee Morris, III, 54, Atlanta, GA - Morris was former General Counsel, Senior Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Board Member of S&W Management, Inc. responsible for corporate and tax structure and organization, acquisitions, litigation and legal and financial matters. He served the City of Atlanta as Council Member District 7 from 1994 to 2001. Morris received his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law. Morris is a member of the Buckhead Lions Club, State Bar of Georgia Facilities Committee, Emory University Board of Visitors, among others. Morris is married with three children.

John A. Sibley III, 58, Atlanta, GA - Sibley is a full-time advocate for the environment through the Georgia Conservancy and became its president in 1998. Formerly, he was a member of the senior staff of Governor Harris from 1987 to 1990. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, member of the Growth Management Leadership Alliance and serves on various other boards. Sibley graduated from Wesleyan University and Yale University Law School. Sibley was named "100 Most Influential Georgians" by Georgia Trend in 2002. Sibley has two children.
