Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue today appointed Thomas Schulz to the State Board of Dispensing Opticians.
A brief biography is provided below:
Thomas Schulz, 53, Snellville, GA - Schulz currently serves as the Chairperson to the Human Services Department of DeKalb Technical College in Clarkston. Previously, he was Program Director and Instructor of the Opticianry Program at DTC. Schulz received his B.S. in Allied Health Education and his Associate in Applied Science Degree in Health Optics from Ferris State University. Some of Schulz's activities include serving as Vice President for the Southeastern Opticians Conference, Vice President of the Opticians Association of Georgia and a Developer of the National Academy of Opticianry Review. Some honors and awards include 2001 Optician of the Year from the Opticians Association of Georgia and 2000 Education of the Year by the National Federation of Opticianry Schools. Schulz and his wife, Deborah, have three children, Erica, Laura, and Nick.
