Atlanta - Chief Financial Officer Thomas D. Hills today announced the appointment of Celeste Osborn as Georgia's new Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Osborn will have the primary responsibility of assisting Hills in the development and administration of the state's fiscal policies and long-term financial strategies.
"Celeste is without question the right person for this critical position," said Hills. "Her experience in the private sector and state government, leadership ability, and understanding of complex budget issues will be invaluable considering the difficult fiscal situation facing our state."

Celeste Osborn, 50, Atlanta, GA - Osborn has 28 years of in-depth financial, management, and executive experience in state government (18 years) and the private sector (10 years). Most recently, she has served as Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer. Her career highlights include Director of Administration for the Office of Education Accountability, Executive Director of the Office of School Readiness, and Vice-President for Financial Management of the Georgia Lottery Corporation. Osborn received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from Berry College in Rome, GA. She has previously been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta's top chief financial officers.
