Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue today announced that he has asked Paul Robert Burks and W. Daniel Ebersole to remain at their posts in state government. Burks serves as Executive Director of the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority. Ebersole is the Director for the Office of Treasury and Fiscal Services.
Paul Burks came to the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority in 1993 after ten years service as the Director of the Georgia Office of Energy Resources. Burks is hired by an eleven-member board that is appointed by the Governor and oversees programs that administer water, wastewater, solid waste, recycling, energy efficiency and fuel storage tanks for local governments, non-profit organizations and state facilities.
Dan Ebersole has served as Director for the Office of Treasury and Fiscal Services since December of 1997. As Director, Ebersole manages the state's banking activities, invests over $12 billion in state and local government funds, and administers the Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan.
Prior to his position at the Office of Treasury and Fiscal Services, Ebersole was Commissioner of the Georgia Merit System, served as Senior Executive Assistant to Governor Zell Miller and as Deputy Director of the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget.
"I am pleased that these two quality individuals will be staying on in my administration. I appreciate their willingness to continue their service to the citizens of Georgia and for their commitment to effective, efficient government," said Governor Perdue.
