Governor Perdue Appoints New Members to State Boards of Education, Industry, Trade and Tourism and the Georgia Lottery Commission

Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue today made appointments to three state boards.
Atlanta resident James E. Bostic, Jr. was named to the State Board of Education, representing Georgia's 6th Congressional District.
Four appointments were also made to Georgia's Board of Industry, Trade and Tourism -- Anna Cablik of Marietta, GA, William M. "Dub" Jones, Jr. of Tiger, GA, Tom Ratcliffe of Hinesville, GA and J. Tom Wiley of Atlanta.
James Ivey of Athens, GA was appointed to the Georgia Lottery Commission.
"I want to thank each of these individuals for their willingness to serve in my administration and for their commitment to public service," said Governor Perdue. "Each will bring a unique set of skills to these important positions."
Brief biographies of the newly appointed board members are provided below:
State Board of Education
James E. Bostic, Atlanta, GA - Bostic, a native of Marlboro County, South Carolina is currently Executive Vice President of Environmental, Government Affairs and Administrative Services for Georgia-Pacific Corporation. Previously he served as President of the Convenience Products Division for Riegel Textile Corporation and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Bostic currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Clemson University Foundation and the Metro Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Parks Conservation Association. Bostic received the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Engineers and Scientists Award given by Clemson University in 2002 and the Vision 300 Award from the Paper Industry Management Association in 1997.
State Board of Industry, Trade and Tourism
Anna R. Cablik, Marietta, GA - Cablik was born and raised in the Republic of Panama. She and her husband came to Atlanta in 1974 after she completed her studies in Medical Technology at Canal Zone College. She accepted a job with Piedmont Hospital and after two years went to work for a construction materials company, eventually rising to Vice President after seven years. In 1982, Cablik started her own contracting company, ANATEK, Inc. which specializes in highway bridges. Cablik's second company, ANASTEEL & Supply Company, LLC was created in 1994 and is the only Hispanic/female owned reinforcing steel fabricator in the Southeast. In 1989, she was Hispanic Businesswoman of the year and a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year in the construction category by Inc. Magazine. In 1997, she earned the Pacesetter Award by the National Association of Minority Contractors in Atlanta. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at Georgia Power and is a member of the Georgia Advisory Board of Branch Banking and Trust.
William M. "Dub" Jones, Jr., Gainesville, GA - Jones was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. He received a BBA in Business at the University of Georgia with additional studies at Stanford University in 1967. He previously served as President and CEO of Ralston Purina Company and President and CEO of Agri-Nutrition Group, Ltd. Currently, Jones serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Southern Sun, BioSystems, Inc. in Hodges, SC and previously Board of Directors of BP Nutrition in London, UK and Chairman, American Feed Industry Association, Washington, DC. Jones also served in the United States Army, Counter Intelligence Agency.
Tom Ratcliffe, Hinesville, GA - Ratcliffe is currently Mayor of Hinesville and a partner with Ratcliffe, Smith & Grinstead, P.C., Attorneys-at-Law. He is a member of the Georgia Bar Association and the American Bar Association. His civic activities include the Hinesville Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. In 1969, Ratcliffe completed Officer Training School, Lackland Air Force Base, as a Distinguished Graduate and then served seven years in the 117th Tactical Air Squadron, Georgia Air National Guard. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Ratcliffe and his wife Linda attend Hinesville First United Methodist Church. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
J. Thomas Wiley, Jr., Atlanta, GA - Wiley was raised in Atlanta and received his BBA in Marketing at Valdosta State University in 1974. In 1986, he received a graduate degree in banking from Louisiana State University. He is currently Vice Chairman and Chief Banking Officer for Flag Financial Corporation and President and CEO of Flag Bank. He previously served as Principal of Bankers' Capital Group, LLC and Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer of Century South Banks, Inc. in Alpharetta. Wiley is Vice Chairman and Director of the Georgia Bankers Association. He has previously been involved with Leadership Georgia Foundation, Savannah Economic Development Authority and the Small Business Assistance Corporation in Savannah, Georgia.

James S. "Jim" Ivey, Athens, GA - Ivey attended Southern Polytechnic University from 1971 to 1973 majoring in Architectural Engineering Technology. He is currently enrolled in Penn State's World Wide Campus Online Degree Program majoring in history with a minor in political science. Ivey currently serves as President and CEO of Computerland Advanced Technology Group. He is a past president of the Georgia Jaycees and formally served on the Board of Directors for the United States Jaycees. Ivey is President of the Board of Directors for Extra Special People. He is also a member of the Oconee County Rotary Club.
