Atlanta - Governor Sonny Perdue made the following statement today regarding the House Rules Committee's decision to have an open debate this afternoon on his flag referendum.
"I am pleased that so many citizens will have the opportunity to witness today's debate on the flag referendum. This hearing is another step towards the open dialogue that our state deserves. The proposal that my floor leaders submitted invites all Georgians into the decision making process," Perdue said.
"I look forward to seeing the results of the committee hearing. I am confident that the people of our great state will make the best choice to move us forward, and I trust that the members of the General Assembly share this view."
