The following is a statement from Governor Sonny Perdue regarding the departure of Jerry Jackson, Commissioner of the Department of Revenue:
"I want to thank Jerry Jackson for his 23 years of service to the people of Georgia. Our state will miss his dedication and commitment. I appreciate his decision to continue serving until the end of the legislative session. Along with the citizens of Georgia and the employees of the Department of Revenue, I wish him the very best in his new endeavor."
Jackson is joining an Atlanta law firm. A permanent replacement at the Department of Revenue will be named later.
