Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

 

ATLANTA Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments. 

 

Board of Governors of the Geo. L. Smith II Georgia World Congress Center Authority

Ken Cornelius, 52, Alpharetta, GA – Cornelius is president and chief executive officer of Siemens One and vice president of sales for Siemens Corporation.  He serves on the board of directors of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.  He is the vice chairman of the Metro Atlanta Global Commerce Council and the Siemens City Ambassador for Atlanta.  Cornelius earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.  He and his wife, Mary Beth, have two children.

Stephen “Steve” B. Croy, 43, Richmond Hill, GA – Croy is president of Croy Realty Group, Inc., where he serves as a broker.  He serves as president of Old South Land Company, Inc. and managing member of Belfast Investment Group.   He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors and the Savannah Board of Realtors.  Croy is a board member of the Bryan County Development Authority and a member of the Richmond Hill Rotary Club, the Savannah Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the 159 Group, Ducks Unlimited, the Coastal Conservation Association Committee and the Quality Deer Management Association.  He is a sponsor of the Wild Turkey Federation and Quail Unlimited.  Croy earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University.  He and his wife, Diane, have two children.

James “Jim” H. Langdale, 34, Quitman, GA – Langdale is vice president and general manager of Langdale Forest Products Company.  He is a member of the Valdosta Technical College board of trustees, the Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Valdosta State University SciTrek board of directors.  Langdale earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University.  He and his wife, Casey, have one child. 

Georgia Council for the Arts

Kimberly “Kim” K. Schuessler, 36, Duluth, GA, Seventh Congressional District Representative – Schuessler is an artist represented in galleries throughout the southeast.  Her work can currently be seen at Bennett Street Gallery in Atlanta, Ga., Beverly McNeil Gallery in Destin, Fla., Studio E Gallery in Jupiter, Fla., Monty Stabler Gallery in Birmingham, Ala.,  and Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, N.C.  Schuessler’s work has been published recently in Better Homes and Gardens, Florida Design, Atlanta Magazine, Atlanta Style and Design and Blazer Magazine.   She is a board member of Young Audiences of Atlanta.  Schuessler attended Agnes Scott College and Parsons School of Design in New York, N.Y.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a teaching certificate from Kennesaw State University.  Schuessler and her husband, Mac, have two children. 

Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame Board

Lance P. Toland, 52, Sea Island, GA, At Large Member – Toland is an aviation insurance broker and president of Lance Toland Associates based in Griffin, Ga. He is a 13,000+ hour Airline Transport rated pilot with multiple aircraft ratings. Toland maintains a commercial multi-engine rotor wing rating.  He serves on the foundation board of directors for the Museum of Aviation and the board of directors of Stepping Stones School for disadvantaged children.  Toland is a member of the Aviation Insurance Association.  He served as president of the Georgia Aviation Trades Association.  Toland has published articles in Business and Commercial Aviation and was featured in a Forbes Magazine article.  He has participated in various aviation panel groups and has appeared on CNN on aviation- related matters.  Toland attended Gordon College, West Georgia College and Woodrow Wilson College of Law.  He and his wife, Jan, have two children. 

Council for Developmental Disabilities

James “Jim” F. Risher, 60, McDonough, GA, Parent Advocate – Risher is president and owner of J.F. Risher and Associates, LLC, a building and grounds maintenance and property management company.  He served as county manager of Henry County and is a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves.  Risher earned a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University.  He and his wife, Joan, have one grown child. 

Sex Offender Registration Review Board

Barbara I. Miller, 64, Waynesboro, GA – Miller is a volunteer victim advocate and an advisor to the Burke County Solicitor’s Office victim assistance program.  She facilitates victim impact panels for DUI offenders for local and federal correctional institutions.  Miller participated in the creation of the Burke County Solicitor’s Office victim assistance program, the Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office victim assistance program and the Burke County DUI/Drug Court.  She served as program coordinator for the Augusta Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office victim witness assistance program, deputy director of Richmond County DFCS and caseworker for Dodge County and Richmond County DFCS.  Miller is a member of the Augusta Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Task Force, the Augusta Area Rape Crisis Advisory Board, the Georgia Historical Society and several genealogical societies.  She is a tree farmer, timberland manager and volunteer for the Burke County Library. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia.
