Apex Homes to Open Manufacturing Facility in Richland

Company’s First Southeast Operation will Create 150 jobs, Invest $4 million

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Apex Homes, Inc., a 16-year-old company based in Middleburg, Pennsylvania, will locate its first Southeast manufacturing facility in Richland, Georgia, representing a $4 million investment. The new plant in Stewart County will employ 150 workers in the next two years.

“Apex Homes’ investment will greatly benefit this growing company and the community of Richland,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “The workforce of Stewart County will ensure Apex’s success in Georgia and the entire Southeast.”

Apex Homes builds modular homes ranging from million-dollar estates to starter homes, as well as commercial units. The company’s new Richland operation, Apex Homes, LLC, is locating in the former Redmond Homes building on U.S. Highway 280. Apex is currently in the process of hiring its workforce and anticipates beginning operations by the end of this month.

“We are very excited with the Richland facility’s potential to serve the housing market needs in the southeastern U.S.,” said Apex Homes Managing Partner Ben Reichley. “We see a strong caliber workforce and positive energy in the local communities. With the level of support we’ve received from state, regional, and local leaders, we feel comfortable that our plan to locate in Georgia, and the Columbus/Richland area, is a prudent business decision.”

“We are extremely pleased that Apex has chosen Richland out of all the communities it considered,” said Richland Mayor Adolf McLendon. “The jobs and investment will be a big boost to the economy of the city and surrounding region, and what made it possible is our great working relationship with regional and state officials.”

“It’s an honor to welcome Apex Homes to our state,” said Craig Lesser, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). “Georgia’s strategic location in the center of the Southeast plays a key part in helping businesses reach their markets more efficiently.”

Apex Homes is a diversified wholesale manufacturer of custom modular homes, condominiums and light commercial structures. The company has built more than eight thousand homes in seventeen states and five foreign countries, and its custom modular home technology is continually evolving to meet the demands of the ever-changing homebuilding market. Apex homes subsidiaries include companies that build, roof trusses, building components, and panelized housing, and the company anticipates bringing these businesses to its Georgia location in the future.
