Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments
ATLANTA, Ga. – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:
Georgia Agrirama Development Authority
Ron S. Coley, 59, Ashburn, GA, Member – Coley is the owner and president of Worth Gin Company in Sylvester, Georgia. He is a board member of Cotton Incorporated, a delegate to the National Cotton Council and a member of the Southern – Southeastern Ginners Association. Coley is a member and managing partner of Concordia LLC Peanut Co-operative and serves as a member of the Georgia Agribusiness Council. He serves as chairperson of Turner County Family Connection. Coley received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Barbara, have two children and one grandchild.
Georgia Medical Center Authority
George N. Snelling, III, D.M.D., 55, Martinez, GA, Member – Snelling is an investor and real estate developer and owner of Snelling Properties LLP. He is a former dentist. Snelling serves on the board of directors for the Georgia Self-Storage Association and is a member of the Georgia Dental Association. Snelling received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He is married to Anne Snelling.

Thomas “Tommy” C. Bobbitt, 52, Dublin, GA, Magistrate Judge – Bobbitt is the chief magistrate judge of Laurens County. He served as Dublin’s Municipal Court Judge for twenty-five years. Bobbitt is the president of the Council of Magistrate Judges and served as the president of the Council of Municipal Court Judges. He serves as crime and fire prevention chairman for the Dublin Exchange Club, is a member of the board of directors of Communities in Schools and is a charter member of the board of directors of the Dublin-Laurens Teen Court. Bobbitt received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from Mercer University. He and his wife, Karen, have one child.
Rita Cavanaugh, 61, Griffin, GA, Magistrate Judge – Cavanaugh is the chief magistrate judge of Spalding County. She served as president of the Council of Magistrate Judges and was a member of the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education for the University of Georgia. Cavanaugh is an executive member of the Kiwanis Club of Griffin and a member of the Griffin Historical Society. She serves on the executive council of the Flint River Council Boy Scouts of America. She received judicial certification from the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada. She and her husband, Gary, have one child and one grandchild.
Warren P. Davis, 55, Norcross, GA, Magistrate Judge – Davis is the chief magistrate judge of Gwinnett County. He was awarded the William B. McMahon award by the American Bar Association and the Meritorious Service Award by the Gwinnett County Bar Association. He has twenty six-years of legal experience, serving first as a sole practitioner and then as a partner with an emphasis on family law. Davis is a member of Rotary International and the Council of Magistrate Judges. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of New York, a law degree from Columbia Southern School of Law and a master’s degree from the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada-Reno. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have seven children and two grandchildren.
Constance J. “Connie” Holt, 57, Buckhead, GA, Magistrate Judge – Holt is the chief magistrate judge of Morgan County. She is an executive committee member and past president of the Council of Magistrate Judges. She is serving her third term on the Council of Magistrate Judges Training Council and is a member of the Mentor Judges Committee. She serves as an advisor for the Council of Magistrate Court Clerks and Secretaries and is the editor of their newsletter. She received the Magistrate of the Year Award twice and the Workhorse of the Year Award in 2003. She received a paralegal degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Johnny, have two children and five grandchildren.
Mary Kathryn Moss, 37, Savannah, GA, Magistrate Judge – Moss is the chief magistrate judge of Chatham County. She serves as first district representative and executive committee member on the State Council of Magistrate Judges. Moss is a member of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Savannah Bar Association and the Junior League of Savannah. She is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Savannah and serves on the board of directors for Benedictine Military School. Moss received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a law degree from Tulane University. She and her husband, Parks, have two children.
Britton D. Brewer, 29, Mableton, GA, Consumer Member - Brewer is a financial consultant for A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. He served a tour of duty from 1998-2002 as a U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Officer. Brewer spent much of the time deployed to Korea as a PATRIOT missile Tactical Control Officer and platoon leader and in Saudi Arabia as a contingency PATRIOT missile battery commander. Brewer received a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University.
