Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments
ATLANTA– Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:
Georgia Ports Authority
Zackary “Zack” R. Aultman, 56, Albany, GA – Aultman is co-owner and vice-president of Flint River Services, Inc., a company specializing in warehousing and distribution services. He was co-owner of Doles Peanut Company. In 2005, Governor Perdue appointed Aultman to the Environmental Advisory Council. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. Aultman and his wife, Debi, have three children.
Donald “Don” E. Cheeks, 75, Augusta, GA – Cheeks is the owner of Bankers Realty and Insurance. He served six years on the Augusta City Council, eighteen years in the Georgia House of Representatives, and twelve years in the Georgia Senate. He is past-president and district lieutenant governor of the Civitan Club and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Cheeks attended The Citadel, the University of Georgia and Augusta Law School. He and his wife, Betty, have two children and four grandchildren.
Additionally, Governor Perdue reappointed three members whose terms expired on July 1, 2006: Stephen “Steve” S. Green (Savannah-Chatham County), Bartow Morgan, Jr. (Atlanta-Fulton County) and Hugh M. Tarbutton (Sandersville-Washington County).

Richard E. Anthony, 60, Columbus, GA –Anthony is president and chief executive officer of Synovus Financial Corporation and director of Total System Services, Inc. He is a member of The Financial Services Roundtable and the Commission for a New Georgia. Anthony is vice chair of the Executive Committee of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce and the chairman of the 2006 Columbus United Way campaign. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and a master's degree from the University of Virginia. He and his wife, Ginny, have two children and five grandchildren.
H. Montague (Monty) Osteen, Jr., 65, Augusta, GA – Osteen is president and chief executive officer of Financial Holdings of Augusta, Inc. He served as chairman of the Developmental Authority of Richmond County and the Association of Financial Services Holding Companies. Osteen is a trustee and past president of Historic Augusta, Inc., an executive committee member of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and president of The Pinnacle Club. He received both a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of South Carolina. Osteen and his wife, Mary, have two children.
