Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:

Board of Directors of the Georgia Lottery Corporation

Martin N. “Marty” Kogon, 65, Atlanta, GA – Kogon is a partner of Pull-A-Part, an auto parts retailer in Atlanta. He also serves as a board member of Definition 6, a high-tech consultancy, and is the incoming president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. Kogon earned a bachelor’s degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Kogon and his wife, Judy, have two grown sons and one granddaughter.

Georgia Ports Authority

Bartow Morgan, Jr., 32, Atlanta, GA, - Morgan is Chairman and CEO of Brand Banking Company, a family owned and operated Gwinnett business since 1905. He is a member of the board of directors of Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful, the Gwinnett Health System, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia. Morgan also serves on the executive board of directors for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Hampden-Sydney College. Morgan and his wife, Leslie, have two children.

State Personnel Board

Hal Roach, Jr., 55, Statesboro, GA, – Roach is an attorney and partner in the law firm Hal Roach Jr., P.C. He is chairman of the Advisory Board of Directors of the Statesboro Branch of Park Avenue Bank and serves as a member of the Bulloch County Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Roach and his wife, Susan, have three grown children.

Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority

Fred W. Greer, Jr., 66, Mansfield, GA – Greer retired as senior vice president of Citizens and Southern National Bank in 1991, after spending 28 years with the corporation. He is a former president of the Georgia Agribusiness Council, past chairman of the agricultural committee of the Georgia Bankers Association and served as director and treasurer of the Georgia Forestry Association. Greer is a graduate of Leadership Georgia and is a 1997 inductee in the Agricultural Alumni Association Hall of Fame at the University of Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Georgia. Greer and his wife, Peggy, have two grown children.
