Governor Perdue Announces Bond Package for Board of Regents
$227 Million Package Will Meet Growing Demand for Higher Education in Georgia
ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today a $227 million bond package for Georgia’s Board of Regents. The bonds will fund critical new construction and renovation projects throughout Georgia’s University system. These projects are included in Governor Perdue’s FY07 budget proposal, which was presented today to the Georgia General Assembly during the Governor’s annual State of the State Address.
“Today I am pleased to announce a budget that is focused on Georgia’s priorities. These priorities include investing in our universities and colleges across the state,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “As our state grows, our university system grows with it. These projects will help us keep pace with demand, and help our university system continue to attract the best students from Georgia, across the nation and around the world.”
