Governor Perdue Announces Judicial Appointment
ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of John K. Edwards, Jr. to the State Court of Lowndes County. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Judge Kelly D. Turner. A brief biography is provided below.
John K. Edwards, Jr., 38, Valdosta, GA – Edwards has served as judge of the Municipal Court for the City of Valdosta since June 1997. Previously, he served as an attorney with the law offices of Saliba, Edwards and Moore and as solicitor of the Municipal Court for the City of Valdosta. Edwards earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Wake Forest University and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
