International Design and Display Group Relocating to Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that International Design and Display Group (IDDG), a three-dimensional design and manufacturing company, plans to relocate its headquarters from Miami Lakes, Florida to Thomasville, Georgia. IDDG plans to invest $1.3 million to rehabilitate three adjacent buildings in Thomasville's historic district for its operations. The company anticipates it will employ up to 46 workers in the next three years – more than triple the size of its current staff.

"We welcome International Design and Display Group to Georgia," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "I am proud that Georgia has the innovation, educated work force and quality of life that attracts and empowers companies like IDDG." The Governor announced the company's projected relocation at a joint meeting of the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs of Thomasville.

IDDG designs, manufactures, installs and services products that include custom realty sales centers, trade show exhibits, signage projects, architectural projects and advertising promotions. The company was founded 17 years ago in Miami Lakes by owner Ian Quinton, a native of Australia.

"The year I spent in Thomasville as a foreign exchange student was one of the best years of my life," said Ian Quinton. "I truly feel as if I am ‘coming home,' and I'm thrilled that over half of our current 26-person staff is anxious to embrace a great quality of life in Thomasville and make the move as well. I'm also pleased our company will have the opportunity to give back to the city by rehabilitating a significant portion of the historic area."

The company will hire up to 20 additional workers in its first year, expanding its staff to 46 in three years. It plans to begin restoring the historic structures on Stevens Street in the next 60 days, and projects that operations will begin in the 32,000-square-foot space in the fall.

"This is yet another great addition to our downtown area," said Mayor David Lewis. "The city and Downtown Development Authority are excited about International Design and Display Group's decision to relocate their business to Thomasville. This project will continue the revitalization of vacant buildings and will bring additional jobs to the downtown area."

"International Design and Display Group's story captures what makes Georgia such a unique place to live, work and enjoy," said Craig Lesser, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. "This state has a special ability and commitment to help businesses and individuals make their dreams a reality. "
