Governor Appoints Elizabeth Pequeno Archer as Interim Inspector General

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Elizabeth Pequeno Archer as Interim Inspector General for the state of Georgia. The Office of Inspector General was created by Governor Perdue in January 2003 and charged with promoting accountability and integrity in state government. Archer replaces Brigadier General James E. Sehorn.

“I’m pleased to welcome Elizabeth Pequeno Archer to this important position in state government,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “The Inspector General’s Office has the great responsibility of fostering ethics and trust in government and I know that her experience and integrity will serve her well in this endeavor.

“Jim Sehorn joined state government at a critical time as Georgia’s first Inspector General. He worked diligently for more than three years to infuse a culture of morality and transparency in state government.
