Judicial Nominating Commission Recommends Applicants to Fill Judicial Vacancies

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue’s Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) has submitted recommendations to fill the vacancies in the Superior Court of the Cobb Judicial Circuit, the Superior Court of the Dublin Judicial Circuit and the State Court of Richmond County. The Cobb and Dublin Judicial Circuit vacancies were created with the passage of House Bill 118, and the Richmond County vacancy was created with the passage of Senate Bill 107 during the 2007 legislative session.
The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy within the Superior Court of the Cobb Judicial Circuit:
- Carl W. Bowers – State Court Judge, Cobb County
- Albert E. Jones – Solo practitioner; Marietta, Georgia
- Nancy Ingram Jordan – Solo practitioner; Marietta, Georgia
- C. LaTain Kell - Shareholder, Brock, Clay, Calhoun & Rogers, P.C., Marietta, Georgia
- Kathryn J. Tanksley – State Court Judge, Cobb County
The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy within the Superior Court of the Dublin Judicial Circuit:
- Donald W. Gillis – State Court Judge, Treutlen County; Partner, Nelson, Gillis & Dixon, LLC
The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy within the State Court of Richmond County:
- Patricia Warren Booker – Of Counsel; Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP; Augusta, Georgia
- John M. Markwalter – Assistant District Attorney, Augusta Judicial Circuit
- Charles H. Weigle – Associate; James, Bates, Pope and Spivey; Macon, Georgia
