Governor Perdue Sets Election Date for 127th House District

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue issued a writ of election late yesterday for the State House 127th District seat, which was vacated when State Representative Mack Crawford was appointed to serve as the Executive Director of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council.

The special election for the House post will be held on November 6.  A copy of the writ follows:

Due to the resignation of the Representative from the 127th, upon his appointment as Executive Director of the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council, a vacancy now exists in the Georgia House of Representatives.

 

Therefore, pursuant to Article II, Section II, Paragraph V of the Constitution and Section 21-2-544 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, a writ of election is hereby issued to the Secretary of State for a special election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, to fill the vacancy in District 127 of the Georgia House of Representatives.
