ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Brian K. Fortner as the solicitor-general of Douglas County. This position was created by the resignation of Gregory R. Barton. A brief biography is provided below.
Brian K. Fortner, 35, Winston, GA – Fortner has served as a prosecutor with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for over six years. He is a litigation coach for the Georgia State University College of Law STLA Mock Trial Team, and the Mock Trial Coach for Chapel Hill High School. Fortner earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from North Georgia College and State University and a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University.
