Bowlden Appointed Interim State Property Officer

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Rod Bowlden as interim state property officer. The state property officer also serves as executive director of the Georgia Building Authority and the State Properties Commission. Bowlden replaces Ray Crawford who passed away on November 23, 2005.
“I appreciate Rod Bowlden’s willingness to serve in this interim capacity following the death of Ray Crawford, a beloved and dedicated public servant,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “His extensive experience with the State Properties Commission will help immensely during this transition period.”
Bowlden, 52, of Jonesboro, has served in state government for more than 28 years. He has served as the deputy executive director of the State Properties Commission for the last 18 years. Bowlden earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is married with two grown children.
