Governor and First Lady Announce Holiday Schedule at the Mansion

ATLANTA – The Governor’s Mansion has released its 2005 holiday schedule for events and tours. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The ceremony is open to the public, and reservations are not required.
During the holiday season, public tours will be offered from December 5 to December 16, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tours will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday tours will be available from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. To attend these tours, individuals must call (404) 261-1776 for reservations. After December 16, the Governor’s Mansion will close for the remainder of the holidays and will reopen on January 24, 2006.
The Governor and First Lady have designated the Governor’s Mansion as a drop site for the United States Marines’ Toys for Tots programs. Donations of unwrapped toys will be accepted throughout the holiday season for children across the state.
