New Business Unit will Employ 250 Georgians within Three Years

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Greenway Medical Technologies, which provides software and services to physicians, will expand its Carrollton location to accommodate PrimeARM™, its new business unit. Greenway is investing $1.2 million initially and creating 250 jobs in the next three years.

“We’re proud that Greenway, an existing Georgia industry, is expanding its operations in Carrollton,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “This is an economic boost to the area and is further evidence that our state provides a climate that enables companies to succeed.”

Greenway makes available to physicians integrated practice management and electronic health records (EHR) software based on Microsoft’s .Net architecture. Its new business unit, PrimeARM, will automate the accounts receivable process, allowing for increased revenues, and give medical practices the ability to create electronic health records. PrimeARM will target small physician practices, which often enter patient information manually and use external billing services.

“We know where our home is and, as Greenway grows, we are excited that the city of Carrollton, Georgia will grow with us,” said Tommy Green, chairman and CEO of Greenway. The jobs that will be generated from our expansion will help the local area beyond just Greenway. We consider this our opportunity to provide back to the community that has provided so many resources to help us become who we are today.”

“This is a big affirmation for the city of Carrollton that an established healthcare technology leader such as Greenway has chosen to expand in our city,” said Mayor Wayne Garner. “It sends a strong message to the technology sector that Carrollton is an attractive location for conducting business by offering a strong, professional workforce as well as an active collegiate student body at the University of West Georgia.”

“Greenway’s choice to expand here in Georgia testifies to the strength of our business assets,” said Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Craig Lesser. “Innovation in Georgia encourages economic development on all levels.”

Greenway Medical Technologies provides the latest in ambulatory healthcare business solutions by enhancing the delivery of patient care through innovative software and services that allow physician practices to function at their highest level of efficiency. Greenway’s PrimeSuite® serves as the starting point of a long-term business plan for physician practices as an Ambulatory Software suite with integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR), practice management and managed care functionality. With PrimeSuite integrating a practice’s clinical, financial, and administrative processes, practices can increase profitability, enhance patient satisfaction, and facilitate adherence to compliance guidelines.
