Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:

State Board of Registration of Used Car Dealers and Used Motor Vehicle Parts Dealers

Robert H. Griggers, 58, Byron, Georgia, Used Parts Dealer Representative (REAPPOINTMENT) - Griggers is president of Bob’s Auto Salvage Inc. He is a director and past president of the Georgia Automotive Recyclers Association, president of the Centerville Rotary and past president of the Make A Wish Foundation of Central and Southern Georgia. Griggers is a licensed used parts dealer in Georgia. He and his wife, Brenda, have two children.

Donald R. Riner, 53, Swainsboro, Georgia, Auto Auctioneer Representative (REAPPOINTMENT) - Riner is president and part owner of Perry’s Auto Auction, Inc. in addition to being in charge of auctioneering and public relations for the company. He is a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Hawhammock Baptist Church in Swainsboro. Griggers attended the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering and is a licensed auctioneer, used parts dealer, and used car dealer. He and his wife, Faye, have two grown daughters.

State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless Commission

Jeffery L. Appling, 42, Commerce, Georgia, Member - Appling is senior pastor at Grove Level Baptist Church in Maysville, where he has been for fifteen years. Under his guidance the congregation has grown from 30 to over 2,000. Appling received his bachelor’s degree in Bible theology from Bob Jones University. He and his wife, Lecia, have three children.

Commercial Transportation Advisory Committee

Ronald “Craig” Crawford, Jr., 45, Pooler, Georgia, Industry Representative - Crawford is president of Georgia Intermodal Services, Inc. and previously worked as a regional manager of Horizon Freight System, Inc. He is a board member of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and secretary and treasurer of the Savannah Motor Carriers Association. Crawford attended Georgia Southern University and served in the United States Navy. He and his wife, Terri, have two children.

Robert J. Fauls, Jr., 56, Newnan, Georgia, Industry Representative - Fauls is president and owner of R.J. Fauls Holdings, Inc. He is treasurer and director of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association, chairman of the Purebreed Arabian Trust and vice president of the Arabian Horse Association. Fauls received a bachelor's degree from Florida Southern College. He and his wife, Christine, have four children and six grandchildren.

Lyons Heyman, 53, Marietta, Georgia, Industry Representative - Heyman is president of 7 Hills Transport, which is primarily dedicated to transporting carpet from Northwest Georgia. He is a member of the board of directors of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and the Cartersville Medical Center and past president of the Cartersville Rotary Club. Heyman received his bachelor's degree in finance from the Univeristy of Georgia and his master's degree in business administation from the University of North Carolina. He and his wife, Gail, have three children.

Martha Martin, 65, Braselton, Georgia, Industry Representative - Martin is president and owner of Martha Martin Trucking and PHIL-MART Transportation, which she has been operating for more than thirty years. She is president of the Braselton Rotary Club, member of the board of directors of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and past president of the Jackson County Industrial Development Authority. Martin attended Marsh Business School. Her and her husband, Max, have two children and one grandchild.

Arthur L. McClellan, 62, Chula, Georgia, Industry Representative - McClellan is chief operating officer of McClellan Truck Lines and has been working in the transportation industry for forty-five years. He is on the board of directors of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and the American Trucking Association (ATA), as well as being the state vice president of ATA. McClellan received a degree in transportation from Blanton’s Transportation College in Asheville, North Carolina. He and his wife, Becky, have two grown sons.
