ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment Jeffrey H. Kight as the solicitor-general of Coffee County . The vacancy was created by the death of Donald A. Starling. A brief biography is provided below.
Jeffery H. Kight, 35, Douglas , GA – Kight is an attorney in general practice with Cottingham & Porter, P.C., in Douglas , Georgia . Previously he was an attorney in general practice in Columbus , Georgia until June 2002. Kight also served as an adjunct instructor at South Georgia College . He is a member of the board of directors for the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, the president-elect of the Douglas County Rotary Club, a trustee of the South Georgia College Foundation, a member of the Coffee County Regional Medical Center Foundation, and a member of the board of directors of Kids' Chance, Inc. Kight is also president of the Douglas Bar Association. He and his wife, Walda, have two children.
