Flags on State Buildings Lowered to Half Staff in Honor of Representative Henry Howard

ATLANTA – Today Governor Sonny Perdue signed an Executive Order directing the flags on all state buildings to be lowered to half staff in honor of Representative Henry Howard on Friday, October 7, the day of his burial. The flags will remain at half staff until sunset.
Howard, 75, was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1991 and represented Georgia 's 121 st House District in the General Assembly. He passed away on Monday, October 3.

FLAGS ON STATE BUILDINGS ORDERED LOWERED TO HALF STAFF
WHEREAS: The Honorable Henry Howard was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1991 and represented Georgia's 121st House District in the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS: Representative Howard served in the General Assembly with distinction where he faithfully represented the people of his district;
NOW, THEREFORE, IN HONOR AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF THE HONORABLE HENRY HOWARD AND HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED: That the flags on all State buildings throughout the State of Georgia be flown at half-staff on the day of his interment, Friday, October 7, 2005 . On such day the flags shall be flown at half-staff until sunset.
