Judicial Nominating Commission Recommends Applicants to Fill Judicial Vacancies

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue's Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) has submitted recommendations to fill the vacancies on the Superior Court of the Cherokee Judicial Circuit, Superior Court of the Flint Judicial Circuit, Superior Court of the Southern Judicial Circuit, Superior Court of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit and the Superior Court of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. 

The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court of the Cherokee Judicial Circuit:

• Suzanne Hutchinson – Judge, Municipal Court of the City of Calhoun
• Donald Scott Smith – Deputy District Attorney, Cherokee Judicial Circuit
• William R. Thompson – Sole practitioner, Calhoun , Georgia

The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court of the Flint Judicial Circuit:

• Wade Crumbley – Crumbley & Crumbley, McDonough , Georgia
• Mary House – Walker & House, LLC, Stockbridge , Georgia
• W. Donald Patten – Sole practitioner, Solicitor for the city of Stockbridge

The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court of the Southern Judicial Circuit:

• James Hardy – Chief Assistant District Attorney, Southern Judicial Circuit
• David Mullis – Kelley, Lovett, Mullis & Blakley, P.C., Valdosta , Georgia
• Richard Kent – Judge, State Court of Colquitt County
• James Tunison – Sole practitioner, Valdosta , Georgia

The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit:

• Thomas Davis – Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney, Gwinnett Judicial Circuit
• John Melvin – Senior Assistant District Attorney, Gwinnett Judicial Circuit
• Albert Norton – Norton & Associates, P.C., Atlanta , Georgia
• Michael Sheffield – Sole practitioner, Decatur and Lawrenceville, Georgia
• Kathryn Schrader – Judge, Municipal Court of Duluth

The JNC submitted the following recommendations to fill the vacancy on the Superior Court of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit:

• Herman Clark – Clark & Clark Attorneys at Law, Ellijah , Georgia
• Harry Doss – Doss & Doss Attorneys, Blue Ridge , Georgia
• Michael Birchmore – Sole practitioner, Blue Ridge , Georgia
