Molly Perry Appointed Executive Director of Criminal Justice Coordinating Council

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Molly Perry as the executive director of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC). 

“Molly Perry has always approached issues in a professional, balanced way and I have valued her advice over the years in her position with the Council for Superior Court Judges,” said Governor Sonny Perdue.  “I am confident that she will continue her commitment to public safety in her new role as executive director of the CJCC.”

Perry replaces Gale Buckner who accepted an appointment by the Governor to the Board of Pardons and Paroles in December 2004.  Diane Williams has served as the acting executive director for the past eight months.

“Dianne Williams has served as acting executive director since the first of the year and she has led the work of the CJCC in a professional, commendable manner,” said Governor Perdue.  “I am grateful to her for the commitment and energy she has displayed in this role.”

CJCC distributes federal grants to assist agencies and organizations in the fight against crime and administers the Georgia Crime Victims Compensation Fund to assist victims of violent crime or their survivors with financial assistance.  CJCC also conducts research studies, criminal justice planning and evaluations of current and potential criminal justice programs.  For more information, visit www.state.ga.us/cjcc .

Molly Perry, 49, Decatur , Georgia – Perry has served as the executive director of the Council of Superior Court Judges, a state judicial branch agency, since June 1993.  In that role, she worked on behalf of more than 200 superior court judges to improve the administration of justice for Georgia citizens.  She has considerable experience in coordinating projects and initiatives with other judicial and criminal justice agencies.  Perry earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University in Oxford , Ohio and her master's degree in business administration from Georgia State University .  She and her husband, Scott, have one daughter.
