TORONTO – Governor Sonny Perdue issued the following statement today regarding the death of four soldiers with the 48 th Brigade in Iraq :
“Mary and I are deeply saddened by the death of the four 48 th Brigade soldiers stationed in Iraq . It is with our most heartfelt sympathies that we extend our condolences to the families and friends of these brave soldiers killed in action on Sunday.
“As members of our Georgia family, we will mourn their passing and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. We will honor their service to our nation and their defense of freedom in the heart of the Middle East . In recognition of their sacrifice, we will not waver in our support for the men and women of our Armed Forces and their noble mission to bring democracy to the people of Iraq and defeat the forces of terror throughout the world.”
