Simpson Appointed to Superior Court of the Tifton Judicial Circuit

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Ralph F. “Rusty” Simpson to the Superior Court of the Tifton Judicial Circuit.  The vacancy was created by the death of Judge J. Harvey Davis.

            A brief biography is provided below.

Ralph F. “Rusty” Simpson, 61, Tifton , Georgia – Simpson is a sole practitioner with offices in Tifton and Sylvester , Georgia .  He was recently recommended by the Judicial Nominating Commission to the short list for the vacancy on the Georgia Supreme Court.  Simpson served as a Captain in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General Corps from 1970 to 1973.  He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, American Bar Association, Tift County Chamber of Commerce, Worth County Chamber of Commerce and the First Presbyterian Church of Tifton.  Simpson earned his bachelor's degree in history from Emory University and his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University .  He and his wife, Judy, have two children.
