Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA , GA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments:

Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame Board

Major General George B. Harrison, 64, Atlanta , GA , At Large Member - Harrison is the director of strategic initiatives for the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Before retiring from the United States Air Force as a Major General, he was the Commander of the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico .  Harrison began his Air Force career as an F-4 pilot at MacDill AFB in Florida . He has logged over 7,000 hours in 95 types of civil and military aircraft, including 530 hours in combat missions all over the world.  He commanded the 4485 th Test Squadron, the 479 th Tactical Training Wing, the USAF Air Warfare Center , Joint Task Force Southwest Asia, and served as the director of operations for U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa . Harrison is an avid civil aviator and is an FAA instructor in single and multiengine airplanes, instruments, and gliders.  He has published numerous works on military aviation and strategy and has won numerous military awards and service medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze campaign stars, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal from the government of Kuwait .  He is the director and executive vice president of the Air Warrior Courage Foundation as well as the director of the Aero Club of Metro Atlanta. Harrison earned a bachelor's degree in general engineering and public policy from the United States Air Force Academy, a master's degree in industrial management from the University of Pennsylvania , and completed a program for executives in national and international security at Harvard University . He and his wife, Pennie, have three children.

Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers

Warren G. Morris, 73, Athens, GA, Athletic Trainer Member – Morris is the former president and co-owner of the Morris Center for Sports Medicine, Inc., a company specializing in outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports injury treatment, and sports event coverage.  For 30 years, Morris served as the director of sports medicine and head athletic trainer at the University of Georgia .  He served for over 25 years on the NCAA's Injury and Equipment Committee and Football Rules Committee and is a past chair of the Southeastern Conference Sports Medicine Committee. Morris is a member of the Georgia Task Force for Physical Fitness and Sports, the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association. Morris is the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award from the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association, the Distinguished Service Award from the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, and the Distinguished Service Award from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.  He earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Iowa University .  Morris and his wife, Debra, have three children.

Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners

Nora L. Pearce, 69, Cairo , GA , Consumer Member – Pearce previously served as a licensed professional nurse at Jackson Memorial and Parkway General Hospitals .  She is a member of the Grady General Hospital Support League, Friends of the Rodenberry Memorial Library, the Georgia Historical Society, and the National Historical Society.  Pearce is a graduate of the Lindsey Hopkins Technical Education Center .  She has two children.

Georgia Board of Dentistry

Colonel Isaac S. Hadley, DMD, 55, Columbus , GA , Dentist Member - Hadley serves as a private practice dentist and the director of Sun Trust Bank in Columbus .  He previously served in the United States Army Dental Corps as well as the Reserves and was called to active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He is a fellow in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, an honorable fellow in the Georgia Dental Association, and past president of the Georgia Dental Society. Hadley is a deacon and trustee in the Fourth Street Baptist Church and past director of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.  In 1996, he was honored as both “Man of the Year” by the Men's Progressive Club of Columbus and “Alumni of the Year” by the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry.  He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Morris Brown College , completed graduate studies at Georgia State University and the University of Maryland , and earned a doctorate in dental medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. Hadley and his wife, Linda, have two children.

Georgia Board of Examiners of Psychologists

Linda F. Campbell, 57, PhD, Alpharetta , GA , Psychologist Member, REAPPOINTMENT - Campbell is a professor at the University of Georgia where she serves as the director of the Center for Counseling and Personal Evaluation.  She served as the editor of Psychotherapy Bulletin and Georgia Psychologist and is widely published in her field. Campbell is a member of the American Psychological Association's (APA) Board of Educational Affairs and past chair of the APA's Ethics Committee.  In addition, she is a past president of the Georgia Psychological Association and former Ethics Committee chair.  She has earned many recognitions and awards through her professional career, including APA Fellow, the Distinguished Psychologist Award from the APA's Division of Psychotherapy, and the APA's Karl Heiser Award for advocacy in shaping the discipline of psychology. Campbell earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in counseling from West Virginia University and a doctorate in psychology from Georgia State University .  She is married to Alan Campbell.

State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology

Kenneth J. Walker, MD, 47, Warner Robins , GA , Otolaryngologist Member - Walker is the founder and president of Warner Robins E.N.T. Associates, a private ear, nose, and throat practice with special interest in pediatric and adult care.  He serves as a staff surgeon at Houston Medical Center and as courtesy staff at Perry Hospital .  He conducts a lectureship on surgical technical issues in ENT at Middle Georgia Technical College and is an adjunct professor of medical terminology at the Georgia Military College 's Warner Robins Campus. Walker is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, and the American College of Physician Executives.  He is a member of the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a doctorate in medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. Walker completed his internship and residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and received his board certification from the American Board of Otolaryngology.  He and his wife, Tammi, have four children.
