ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue issued the following statement today upon receiving the formal resignation of Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Norman Fletcher effective June 30, 2005:
“As Justice Fletcher departs the Supreme Court of Georgia, he leaves a legacy of fair and impartial justice for all of our citizens. Justice Fletcher has made equal access to justice a top priority during his tenure on our state’s highest court. On behalf of the people of Georgia whom he so honorably served, I thank him for the lasting contributions he made to the citizens of our state.”
