ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue issued the following statement today regarding the Senate’s bipartisan support of the teacher tax cut legislation (HB263):
“In every corner of Georgia, we have teachers who care deeply about the children in their classroom and they often spend their own money to help these students succeed. This tax relief recognizes our teachers’ hard work and the sacrifices they make educating our young people. I look forward to signing this tax cut into law.”
Today the bill passed the Senate 47-2 and now awaits the Governor’s signature. It passed the State House unanimously on February 9, 2005.
