Governor Perdue Appoints Patrick Moore Executive Director of Georgia Technology Authority

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the appointment of Patrick Moore as Executive Director of the Georgia Technology Authority.  GTA delivers secure, reliable technology services and solutions for Georgia state government. 

 "Patrick Moore has served the state admirably as Deputy Chief Operating Officer and as interim Executive Director of GTA," said Governor Sonny Perdue.  "As the permanent Executive Director, he will continue to transform state government and make it more efficient and customer-friendly."   

During his five months as GTA’s interim executive director, Moore made tremendous strides in bringing greater transparency to the agency.  He has put a high priority on performance measurement and improving service delivery. Moore has strengthened the state’s ability to manage complex IT projects and worked closely with agencies to find solutions to meet their needs, while ensuring that the state’s investments in technology enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of government.

Before working at GTA, he served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Governor Perdue, where he worked closely with Chief Operating Officer Jim Lientz to create a customer-friendly state government.   Prior to being named Deputy COO, Moore was deputy chief of staff in the Governor's Office.  Previously, he served as special assistant to the director of the Office of Planning and Budget and as director of executive appointments in the Office of the Governor. 

Prior to joining the Perdue Administration, Moore served as political director for Chambliss for Senate in 2002.  Moore also spent three years working for Senator Paul Coverdell in Washington D.C. where he served as deputy legislative director and legislative assistant.  He is a native of Jasper, Georgia.  Moore received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and earned a master's degree in business administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.  He is married to Kristan Moore.  Together they have one son, Matthew.
