Governor Perdue Orders Flags at State Capitol, Governor's Mansion to Half-Staff in Honor of State Trooper LeCroy

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue today ordered flags be flown at half-staff on the State Capitol building and grounds, and the Georgia Governor’s Mansion on Friday, December 31, 2010. The flags will fly at half-staff in honor of Georgia State Trooper First Class Chadwick LeCroy.

“Trooper LeCroy was a dedicated and devoted public servant ensuring the safety of all Georgia citizens,” said Governor Perdue. “Mary and I mourn his passing and pray for his family during this difficult time.”

Executive Order

 

Flags on State CAPITOL AND Grounds Ordered Lowered to Half Staff

 

WHEREAS:  Georgia State Trooper First Class Chadwick LeCroy, #744 gave his life while fulfilling his duty to protect and serve his fellow Georgians; and

 

WHEREAS:  Trooper First Class LeCroy was sworn in as a Georgia State Trooper on the 22nd of August 2008; and

 

WHEREAS: Trooper First Class LeCroy earned the “Top Gun” award while attending the Eighty-Fifth Georgia State Patrol Training School; and

 

WHEREAS:  Trooper First Class LeCroy demonstrated the highest level of dedication and bravery and is survived by his wife, Keisha and sons, Bret and Chase; and

 

WHEREAS:  Trooper First Class LeCroy’s funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell Street in Marietta, with interment at the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

NOW, THEREFORE IN HONOR, AND AS A MARK OF RESPECT FOR THE MEMORY OF TROOPER FIRST CLASS LECROY AND HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

 

ORDERED:  That the flag of the United States and the flag of the great State of Georgia be flown at half staff on the State Capitol building and grounds on Friday, December 31, 2010, the day of his funeral, until sunset.
