Governor Announces Judicial Appointment

           ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue today announced the appointment of Max Wood as Chief Judge of the Office of State Administrative Hearings to replace Judge Lois Oakley, who retired. 

 

A brief biography is provided below:

State Administrative Law Judge

Max Wood - Max Wood served as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia beginning in 2001. As U.S. Attorney, he served as the Chief Prosecutor and law enforcement officer for the United States in the 70 county Middle District of Georgia.  His past experience includes work in private practice, as an Assistant District Attorney, on the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council, and as a Judge Advocate General.  Wood received his J.D. from the University of Georgia and is a graduate of LaGrange College.  He and his wife, Suzanne, have three children.
