Judicial Nominating Commission Recommends Nominees to Fill Vacancy on the Appalachian Judicial Circuit

ATLANTA – Governor Sonny Perdue’s Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) has submitted recommendations to fill a new judgeship on the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Judge Oliver Harris Doss, Jr.

The JNC submitted the following short list of names:

• Harmon T. Smith, Jr., Blue Ridge – Attorney, Law Offices of Harmon T. Smith, Jr.
• Amanda H. Mercier, Blue Ridge – Partner, Law Office of  David E. Ralston
