Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA  Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments.  Brief biographies are provided below:

 

Board of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities

Sandra A. Morris, 57, Temple – Morris retired as executive director of   the Carrollton Housing Authority in June of 2009. She serves on the boards of Alice’s House Community Children’s Home, Carroll County Boys & Girls Club, Carroll Meth Awareness Coalition, Carroll County Council on Aging, Carroll Mental Health Advocates, and is a member of the Carrollton Rotary Club. Morris attended Carroll Area Vocational Technical School.  She and her husband, Richard, have two children and three grandchildren.

 

Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission

Rick A. Thompson, 37, Roswell – Thompson is founder and chief executive officer of R. Thompson & Associates, LLC, an ethics and governmental compliance consulting firm and an adjunct faculty member of the University of Phoenix.  He most recently served as executive secretary of the Georgia State Ethics Commission.  He is a member of the Council on Governmental Ethic Laws, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, National White Collar Crime Center, and the Marine Corps League.  Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College and a master’s degree from Central Missouri State University

 

Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission

Richard R. Bias, 57, Martinez, Member At Large – Bias is senior vice president for ambulatory and network services at MCG Health, Inc. He is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and the former treasurer and president of CSRA Association of Healthcare Executives.  He serves on the boards of Wills Memorial Hospital, the East Georgia Health Cooperative, the East Central Georgia Emergency Medical Services Council, Inc., and REACH Call, Inc. Bias earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and a master’s degree from Duke University. He and his wife, Kay Gross, have two children.

 

State Board of Optometry

Robert W. McCullough, O.D., 58, Fayetteville – McCullough is an optometrist with a private practice in Jonesboro. He is a past president of the Georgia Optometrist Association and is a member of the Jonesboro Kiwanis Club and Jonesboro Methodist Church. McCullough earned a bachelor’s degree form Middle Georgia College, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, and a doctorate in optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He and his wife, Carol, have two children.
