Governor Perdue Announces Executive Appointments

ATLANTA  Governor Sonny Perdue announced today the following executive appointments.  Brief biographies are provided below:

 

Board of Governors of the George L. Smith II Georgia World Congress Center Authority

Douglas J. Tollett, 63, Johns Creek Tollett is founder and president of Douglas Management Company, a privately held real estate management company.  He previously served as president and chief operating officer of American Resurgens Management Corporation. He is co-chairman of the Transit Planning Board and the Metro Atlanta Chamber Transit Committee. He is a member of the Enclave Homeowners’ Association and Choices Atlanta. Tollett is past director of the North Atlanta National Bank, the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, and the Golf Club of Georgia. He and his wife, Brenda, have three grown children, survive one child and have five grandchildren.

 

GeorgiaAuctioneers Commission

Uladia Taylor, 52, Decatur – Taylor is an auctioneer and realtor with Gold Key Brokers, Inc. She has earned the Certified Auctioneer Institute, Certified Benefit Auctioneer and Certified Estate Specialist designation. Taylor is secretary/treasurer and past vice president – Central Georgia of the Georgia Auctioneers Association. She is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, the DeKalb Association of Realtors, the Women’s Council of Realtors and the International Society of Appraisers. She is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club and was elected the 2007 Member of the Year for the DeKalb Women’s Council of Realtors. She earned a bachelor’s degree and education certification from the University of Michigan. She has two grown children.

 

GeorgiaCommission for Service and Volunteerism

Anthony L. Reeves, 25, Lithonia — Reeves is as an assistant house parent for Families First and is a graduate of Georgia’s foster care system.  He serves as a legal intern and consultant for the Georgia Supreme Court’s Office of Child Advocates and is involved with the Metro Atlanta Youth Opportunities Initiative.  He has worked alongside First Lady Mary Perdue since January 2006 helping to institute policies for foster care parents and agencies.  In 2006, he was selected as a Foster Club All Star.  Reeves earned an associate’s degree from the DeVry Institute.

 

Georgia Film, Video and Music Advisory Commission

Keith N. Collis, 42, Winder, Labor Representative – Collis is currently a transportation coordinator with SBTV, LLC.  He has been a transportation coordinator, captain and driver on numerous films including: “House of Payne”, “Stomp the Yard”, “Warm Springs” and “Big Fish”.  He is a member of Teamsters Local 728 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 84.  He and his wife, Susan Nicole, have three children. 

 

State Board of Physical Therapy

Emily W. Garner, 29, Carrollton – Garner is a physical therapist with Southern Therapy Services, Inc. She previously worked at Performance Group Rehabilitation in Birmingham, Alabama. Garner lectured on “Closed Chain Rehab for the Overhead Athlete” at the 2008 SportsMedicine Conference in Carrollton. She is also experienced in molding and fitting patients for custom-made orthotics. She is a member of Sertoma and the United States Tennis Association. Garner earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She is married to Griffin Garner.
