Website includes new video player, photo gallery and RSS feeds
“Today the Internet is an integral part of doing business for government and the private sector,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “This new website will put Georgians just one click away from information on a host of policy issues, constituent resources and late breaking news.”
New features include an easy-to-use video player with video of Governor Perdue’s recent speeches, press conferences and special events. This video player is located on the homepage of the website and requires no external media player to utilize.
A new comprehensive photo gallery also allows visitors to the website to view, download and print photos from Governor Perdue’s recent events, reducing staff time and resources spent in mailing hard copies of photos. Press releases, videos and photos are available via RSS feeds (Really Simple Syndication) so that visitors may automatically receive these materials as they are released.
Governor Perdue’s Office collaborated with the creative content services team in the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) portal office to develop the new website. GTA hosts the website as a part of Georgia.gov, the state government’s internet portal which provides a single point of access to government information and services.
The new video player and production capability are provided by Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB). Additional technical assistance is provided by GTA Media Productions.
“I appreciate the work of the talented professionals at GTA and GPB who have contributed to this project,” said Governor Perdue. “This Team Georgia effort has allowed us to produce a cutting-edge website for everyone to enjoy.”
The new website replaces the previous website for Governor Perdue’s Office. Visitors to the former website address will be automatically redirected to the new website.
To visit the new website, go to http://gov.georgia.gov.
