ATLANTA, GA – Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Georgia has received approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for adding two counties to a federal disaster declaration in response to the impact of Hurricane Ivan.

Clay and Stephens counties have been approved for the complete range of public infrastructure assistance. These additions make a total of 31 counties receiving assistance under the Ivan declaration.

“The financial demands that result from a major hurricane can be a challenge for many local governments. I am pleased these counties will now have access to assistance that will help them continue their recovery efforts,” said Governor Sonny Perdue.
