New Policy Advisor Joins Governor's Staff

            ATLANTA, GA - Governor Sonny Perdue announced today that Terry DeMeo King will join the Governor's staff as Policy Advisor for Natural Resources, Transportation, and Economic Development effective Monday, August 16, 2004.

            "Terry will be a valuable addition to our policy team," said Governor Sonny Perdue.  "I look forward to her insight and counsel concerning many of the important issues facing the state."

            King, 48, is the Environmental Policy Program Manager with the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government where she conducts and provides environmental policy research to both government entities and to private sector organizations.  Her work includes several publications concerning the state water plans and watershed management.  King has provided research on the trout stream buffer provisions of the Erosion and Sedimentation Act and the Georgia Water Quality Control Act.  She also has proficiency with land conservation strategies, greenway development, and land use and quality growth.

            King joins Trey Childress, Policy Director; Dr. Ben Scafidi, Policy Advisor for Education; and Rebecca Sullivan, Policy Advisor for General Government.
